Private Student Accommodation in Liverpool
If you have been accepted to study a full time course at one of Liverpool's universities in September, you will need to secure somewhere to live. If you do not want to live in halls of residence, you will need to rent private student accommodation.
What is private student accommodation?
Private student accommodation is accommodation that is owned by a private company and rented to students for a 44 week period from September to July, aligning with the academic year. At TJT Students, we offer a superb range of high-quality, modern and well-equipped student accommodation to satisfy every budget and preference.
Benefits of private student accommodation
Unlike halls of residence, private student accommodation tends to be situated closer to the city centre, allowing students to immerse themselves in art and culture, to enjoy the convenience of city living and the opportunity to socialise with students from other universities as well as the friendly locals.
Though our range of private student accommodation is closer to the city centre than to the universities, it is all within easy commuting distance, whether you prefer to travel on foot, by bike or on public transport.
Cost comparison between private student accommodation and university halls of residence
Both private student accommodation and university halls of residence are offered fully furnished and on an all-inclusive basis, with internet and utilities bills included in a transparent weekly price. However, private student accommodation tends to be more affordable as university halls of residence attract a premium price for the convenience of being on-site or very close to your chosen place of study.
Paying for private student accommodation
International students are required to pay up front and in full for their accommodation; however, domestic students may pay in instalments. If a student's payments are guaranteed by a third party, they will need to co-sign the reservation form to confirm that they understand and accept their financial responsibilities in respect of the student's accommodation.
The price of each property varies depending on which property is chosen and the type of room selected within the property; however, these prices are clearly detailed up front, and with transparent all-inclusive pricing, there will be no unexpected costs or unwelcome surprises when you reserve your private student accommodation with TJT Students.
What sort of private student accommodation is available in Liverpool?
We offer a range of different types of private student accommodation, including self-contained studio flats where students live on their own with all of their own amenities.
Some of the student flats on our books are en-suite, offering students the privacy of a self-contained studio flat while providing the social aspect that many young people crave.
All of our private student accommodation includes some sort of laundry facilities, saving students time and money on launderette bills and reducing the need to take washing home on weekends and during the holidays. This increases the student's ability to be self-sufficient and encourages independence.
At TJT Students, we have hand-selected our private student accommodation to ensure easy access to the major Liverpool universities, including the University of Liverpool, Liverpool John Moores University, the Liverpool Institute of Performing Arts and Hope University. Equally, though, we understand that for many students, the historic city centre is a major draw, and so our accommodation enables easy access to it, whether on foot, by bike, or by public transport.
Camden Street Student Accommodation
For students wishing to live in the heart of the city centre, our Camden Street townhouses are sure to delight. Refurbished to a very high standard, each of these historic 4-storey buildings houses 6 en-suite bedrooms with shared kitchens, dining rooms and common rooms.
Derby Buildings Student Accommodation
Derby Buildings is situated in Wavertree, a 15 minute walk from the city centre and on a main bus route. It is the perfect choice for sociable students who are happy to share communal facilities and prefer to live on the outskirts of the city centre.
Lime Court Student Accommodation
Lime Court is located on Liverpool's renowned Lime Street, directly above the Worlds Apart comic shop and within a short walking distance of Lime Street train station. It is ideally situated for accessing all of the Liverpool universities and the pubs, clubs and shops in the city centre.
Lime Court offers one self-contained studio flat as well as a range of 3, 4 and 7 bedroom flats with shared communal facilities. It is a very attractive option for students living away from home for the first time who desire city centre living and need an easy commute.
Living in private student accommodation in Liverpool
When you complete a reservation form for TJT Students private accommodation, you will be asked for your demographic preferences. This is to help us match you with suitable housemates. Please articulate your preferences clearly, for example, if you only want to live with people of the same age or gender or who are attending the same university, include this on the form as it will help us to better allocate accommodation for September's intake.
If you have friends who will also be studying in Liverpool this September and wish to live with them, please include their names on your reservation form and we will do our utmost to house you together.
All of our private student accommodation is fully furnished and each room is fitted with a bed, a wardrobe, a chest of drawers, a bedside cabinet and a desk. The rooms have plenty of power points and sockets for your television and telephone. You will be responsible for cleaning your room and helping to look after the communal facilities.
Security and maintenance
For your peace of mind, all of our private student accommodation is fitted with CCTV and we have an experienced and dedicated team of caretakers who will address any maintenance issues that may arise during your tenancy. We ask that you treat your accommodation as your own, taking pride in maintaining it in good condition and reporting any issues promptly so that they can be resolved before they escalate.
Viewing and securing your private student accommodation
We offer video viewings of all of our rooms and our team would be delighted to speak to you to discuss your specific needs and preferences and to signpost you to an appropriate property. Securing your preferred room is easy - simply fill in the reservation form on our website, including copies of your photographic ID and evidence of your university acceptance letter. If you have a guarantor, please include their details as we will need to contact them to verify their credentials before we can secure your room for you.
Once we have reviewed your application and supporting paperwork, we will be in contact to confirm your booking, at which point your deposit will be due. This is equivalent to one week's rent and will be deducted from your first payment once you take up residence. Once this is received, your accommodation will be reserved for you, ready for you to move in in September.
