COVID-19: Update

In light of the new national lockdown announced by the Uk government on Monday 6th January please see the information below for updated information published by each University:

Helping our students and staff protect themselves and others is our top priority. Since the start of the pandemic, we implemented a number of measures to ensure that we continue to provide safe, welcoming homes for our residents. We advise all our tenants to follow the current Government Guidelines regarding the national lockdown rules to help to keep everyone safe. You can still contact us by phone or email with any queries or concerns, or just for a friendly chat. If you are currently staying at one of our sites and need to self isolatie please use the form below to let us know, that way we can keep everyone safe.

On Campus Testing

 

There has now been a change in circumstances with regards to the University COVID test centre. This test centre, based on the University of Liverpool campus, will now only offer testing to University of Liverpool and LJMU students and staff. LIPA students and staff can no longer get tested at the on campus facility, and will instead need to book a test through the NHS Coronavirus page.

Students and staff are reminded to only book a test if they are displaying symptoms

Here at TJT Students we are doing are best to keep everything running as smoothly as possible during the current pandemic and we are taking bookings for September 2021/22 online & by phone, will deal with enquiries as quickly as possible.

Health and safety remains our priority, and we have a number of measures in place to protect our staff and customers, in line with the Government guidelines set out for estate agents. We will be asking everyone to adhere to strict procedures which include, but are not limited to, the following measures: 

​Viewings
 

We can conduct video viewings, and will continue to offer those in the first instance wherever possible. Although now allowed  we are currently not offering physical viewings of our student properties until further notice. Please use button below to request a video viewing.

Visiting Our Offices
​

Although we are open for business, we will have a limited number of staff in our office, with others working remotely.

​

Our office is displaying appropriate signage to help maintain 2m social distancing and we will only allow 2 customers to enter our reception area at once.

 

Where necessary, we may be using personal protective equipment and provide hand sanitiser and/or hand washing facilities. Our office is cleaned and disinfected regularly.

If you do need to come into one of our offices, please call ahead to book an appointment.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS​

We appreciate that we are living in uncertain times and you will have a lot of questions about how we are dealing with the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic. We’ve answered some common queries below…

 

IS MY ACCOMMODATION STILL OPEN?

Yes! we are open and welcoming students. Our staff are what makes us great, and our staff remain on hand to provide all residents with a comfortable, clean and secure home. We encourage you to follow the government's advice about staying at home, and we like many are hopeful that the rollout of the vaccine will help in the current battle against the virus and look forward to welcoming you back when possible, we will update this page if the government's advice changes.

 

We advise all our tenants to follow the Government Guidelines regarding Social Distancing and our  staff are still contactable by email with any queries or concerns. 

 

DO YOU HAVE A PLAN IN PLACE FOR COVID-19?

Yes! We have an internal plan in place that is under constant review due to the fast changing nature of the current pandemic.

WHAT IF I NEED TO CONTACT YOU?

You can still contact us via chat for general enquiries etc, to contact us for emergencies only see here . We will use our social media pages to keep you up to date with tips and ideas on keeping entertained, and more importantly protecting your mental health.

Whilst in the communal areas of your accommodation we ask that you maintain social distancing at all times by keeping 2 meters apart; unnecessary use of communal areas is discouraged.

 

Please maintain good hygiene standards by washing your hands regularly. For those who share a Kitchen we ask that you clean the areas that you use after preparing food etc, and try not to use the Kitchen at the same time as your flatmates.

 

We encourage you to download the Wix app, available on the both the Apple & Android app stores. Once downloaded, please create an account and use the invite code YL3I5H to access our space on the app. You can set up your own chat groups within the Wix app and also keep in contact with the TJT Students team, we plan to update the app with new content soon.

 

CAN I END MY TENANCY EARLY?

Whilst Universities and Colleges have moved to online teaching, our building remains open, providing you with a comfortable, safe and welcoming home away from home.

During this rapidly changing environment we are prioritising the welfare of our residents and staff. We are working with our staff to ensure continuity of service to the residents still living in our building, at present our standard cancellation policy still applies, if there are any future changes to our cancellation policy we will ensure our residents are informed. If the situation is causing financial difficulties, we can discus with individuals setting up a personalised repayment plan.


CAN I CANCEL MY UPCOMING BOOKING?

If you have booked for September 2020, our standard cancellation policy applies.

If you have booked a Summer or Short Term stay but are not able to travel to the UK  on your Tenancy Start Date due to international travel restrictions or Covid-19 related health issues please contact us via email to discuss.

 

ARE YOU STILL TAKING BOOKINGS FOR SEPTEMBER 2021

Yes, and whilst we appreciate you may not be able to attend a viewing in person, we can arrange a video viewings or email you a video of your chosen site and room –  fill the form here to request a virtual viewing.

Many of you will be awaiting further information on what is happening with Exam results, VISAs and of course international travel, however with TJT Students you can book with confidence.

 

We operate a 72 hour “cooling off” period up to the 31st July so if your circumstances change you can cancel your booking. Once the “Cooling Off” period has expired, you can cancel your booking if:

– You do not have a visa to enter the UK
– You have not acquired the grades to be offered a place at the chosen university
– You have failed to achieve the grades to continue your study at university

STUDENT FINANCE

In these uncertain times, we know our residents may be worried about their Student Finance.

 

Student Finance England are following their standard process for payments

SAAS has continuity measures in place to ensure their services remain functioning and endeavour to continue to fund students on time. More information is available here, and they recommend that students and institutions follow their social media channels for the latest updates.
